Office Design * Space Planning * Ergonomics
When office furniture and the spatial environment fits our requirements for comfort and functionality, we are most productive. Diverse and individual office plans must suit the tasks and equipment. The perfect plan reflects task efficiency. ERGONOMICS relates functions to be performed in a space to anatomy, physiology and traffic flow. Correctly applied ergonomics create comfort, efficiency & ease of task completion. OFFICE DESIGN Space Planning and Ergonomics involve first, creating the most effective working model from a scaled floor / equipment / furniture plan. EQUIPMENT - placement should be conducive to tasks and appropriate accessibility. Remember that electrical outlets need to be considered.
FURNITURE - seating, desks, counters, etc. Do you ever feel uncomfortable seated at your desk with your back to the door? Many people do, yet it remains common. Whenever possible, place the desk facing the doorway. This puts you at ease and in command in the room.
PEOPLE - allow generously for movement, passage, traffic flow, appropriate seating. WORK FLOW - efficient convenient access between task points - ie: desk to printer to paper to scanner, etc.
