Truly Earth Friendly Furniture Is Used Furniture A welcome new wave of designer retro furniture stores has evolved. The formerly common junk shops now have an upscale cousin getting attention! Used retro furniture has become ‘designer’ savvy with showrooms filled with delightful styles that cannot be found otherwise. Exquisitely arranged, unique used and antique Retro Chic Designer shops are stocking a wider array than ever, as more cast-offs accumulate. Period furnishings now include recent period styles from the 1950’s to '70’s. Creeping in as well, are some '80's pieces. You may find, for example, 1960’s reproduction French Provincial that can be refinished with a warm umber glaze that will make it look original ‘Provencal’.
Fascinating accessories & art brimming in cleanly packed shops makes for a budget decorator’s dream. Creative re-use allows for eclectic arrangements, original style, and environmental savvy. You very likely will be getting better quality than buying new and cheap. There are some great pieces just waiting to be given new life - cheap!
